What Is the Value of Everything a Mom Does?

What if we put a value on everything a mom does?

From the moment she wakes up to the moment she finally gets to rest, a mother's day is filled with countless responsibilities. Planning, organising, caring, cooking, remembering, comforting, anticipating, and making sure everyone else is taken care of.

Some of these tasks are visible. Others happen quietly, in the background, often without recognition.

If we were to calculate the hours spent on childcare, household responsibilities, emotional support, and all the little things that keep a family going, the value would be significant. And yet, even the most detailed estimation could never capture everything.

Because motherhood is not only about what a mother does. It is also about what she carries, what she remembers, the worries she keeps to herself, the sacrifices she makes, and the countless ways she shows up for her family, often without anyone asking.

There is the mental load of thinking ahead, the emotional energy of being there for everyone, and the invisible work that rarely makes it onto a to-do list.

This is why any attempt to put a number on a mother's contribution will always remain an estimation. Some things can be counted, but so much of what mothers give cannot be measured.

And perhaps that is the point.

A mother's work deserves recognition, her time deserves value, and her contribution deserves to be seen. But a mother's love? That comes with no price tag.

It's priceless.
