A Space Where We Don't Have to Choose: The Idea Behind SocialMoms
When we started building SocialMoms, one question kept coming back to us: what kind of space did we really want to create?
We imagined a room where we could show up as moms, but also as women with ideas, ambitions, curiosity and dreams of our own. A space where motherhood was part of who we are, but never the only thing that defined us.
Because the reality is that many spaces still aren't built to support mothers who want to actively grow in other areas of their lives while navigating motherhood. Whether it's building a business, developing a career, exploring new interests or simply making time for themselves, women are often left trying to fit these ambitions around a world that doesn't always accommodate the realities of being a mom.
Think about how often you walk into an event or a gathering knowing you will probably be the first one to leave. There is a school pick-up to make, a family commitment waiting, or simply a list of responsibilities that doesn't pause just because you have stepped into a room.
We wanted to create something in between.
A space where we don't have to choose between being a mom and being ourselves. Where conversations about motherhood can sit alongside conversations about business, personal growth, everyday life, struggles, ideas and big dreams.
A place where you can meet another mom, exchange ideas, discover an opportunity, share a challenge or simply feel understood.
That is the kind of space we want SocialMoms to be. Not a place that asks women to leave one part of themselves at the door, but a community that makes room for all of it.
And most importantly, a space we continue to build together.
For us. For you. For every mom who needs it.
